Day 170-ish of shameless self-promotion on LinkedIn…

Even though I have a pipsqueak of an account, I’m well and truly in the swing of things now. Most of the time, posting stuff doesn’t feel like a big lift, and sometimes I’ve even knocked out a week’s worth of posts in a single session of about an hour.

Overall, if I had to put a number on it, I’d say 100 days is really all it probably takes to get on top of if you’re new.

So if you’re curious about posting here, here 4 practices I’ve found work well for me that might help you:

  • Breaking up posts into 3 types makes it easier to know what to say. I chose Meta ad news, what’s going on with my business, and a Facebook ads tutorial of some kind as my three.
  • Saving posts and ideas on Google Keep helps accelerate coming up with posts. Sometimes I just riff quickly off the list or do my own version of a cool post I saw before.
  • Replace doom-scrolling with a bit of connecting. I just pop the LinkedIn app on my phone waiting for things, visit a few cool people, and send connection requests.
  • It seems most people ignore DMs but appreciate comments, so I’ve been trying to comment supportively rather than DM folks.

Having said this, it has led to only a sprinkle of business opportunities. So I’m guessing that comes much longer term.

But for now, I’m happy doing it for the visibility among my existing network and making cool new professional friendships along the way.

See you in the next update 🫡
