Privacy Policy

Who I am

My name is Benjamin Boman. This is my personal website. If you have a question about this policy, you can reach me via the contact form on the homepage.

What data this site collects

I don’t run a store or membership area, so the data collected here is pretty minimal. Here’s what’s actually happening:

If you fill out a contact form Your name, email, and whatever you write in the message. I use that to reply to you – nothing else.

If you subscribe for post notifications Your email address is passed to ConvertKit and added to a list. I use it to send you an email when I publish something new. That’s it. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any notification email.

Cookies and tracking This site uses a few tools that track visits and set cookies:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) – tells me how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they came from. Data is anonymised by default. Google’s privacy policy.
  • Google Tag Manager – loads and manages the tracking scripts on the site. It doesn’t collect data itself, it just runs the tools that do.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel – tracks page visits so I can see how my ads are performing and run retargeting campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. Meta’s privacy policy.
  • X (Twitter) Pixel – same deal, for X ad campaigns. X’s privacy policy.

What I don’t do with your data

  • I don’t sell it
  • I don’t pass it to anyone outside of the platforms listed above
  • I don’t use it for anything beyond what’s described here

How long I keep it

Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted. Subscriber data is held in ConvertKit for as long as you’re subscribed – unsubscribe any time and it’s removed. Analytics and pixel data follows each platform’s own retention settings – GA4 defaults to 14 months.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what data I hold about you, request that I delete it, or opt out of tracking. Use the contact form and I’ll sort it within 30 days.

To opt out of analytics tracking, you can use the Google Analytics opt-out tool or adjust cookie settings in your browser. Most modern browsers let you block third-party cookies under privacy settings. You probably have an ad blocker on, anyway.

Where data goes

Analytics and pixel data is processed by Google, Meta, and X – all US-based. ConvertKit is also US-based. Each operates under standard contractual clauses for GDPR compliance where applicable.

Security

The site runs on HTTPS. I take reasonable precautions, though no website can guarantee complete security. This site is operated by a human, after all.
