Testing: Chatbots to Increase Conversions

I keep hearing about chatbots, even if I am a bit late to the show. I have built a basic one on my site and will be testing an advanced chatbot to convert visitors into leads after hours for a client.

So far I’ve been looking at chatbots created on Zoho (Zobot) and Hubspot.

HubSpot Chatbots

Creating a chatbot on HubSpot was easy. Their interface is very clean, friendly and intuitive to use. You add a sequence of messages then edit the settings of each message to add the logic to the conversation.

I didn’t think of mapping out the whole conversation first, but in hindsight I should have. Having said that, it wasn’t a disaster without doing it – just a bit more time consuming.

I look forward to seeing how this works out in the long term.

Zoho Chatbots

Zoho chatbots weren’t as straight forward. I will need to work from an existing template and try to wrangle it to add the questions and sequences I need.

However this time, I made sure to map out the entire conversation flow using Draw.io first. This was definitely helpful in understanding the logic, messages and steps required ahead of time.
